Technology Details
In freshwater aquaculture, there is an utmost need for alternative source of feed supplements which will provide better growth, improved immunity and disease resistance. In this regard, several on farm and off farm studies was being conducted to assess the effects of dietary supplementation of zinc oxide (ZnO) and selenium (Se) nanoparticles (NPs) on growth, immunological and enzymatic profiles in rohu, Labeo rohita. Fishes (Labeo rohita) were fed with basal diet incorporated with synthesized zinc oxide and Selenium nanoparticles showed increase in growth and non-specific immunity and enzymatic parameters. Challenged study with virulent bacterial strain Aeromonas hydrophila showed higher relative percentage survival (RPS) in groups or fishes fed with nanoparticles.
